Graduation makeup that lasts in daylight
Outdoor photos, a long ceremony and a cap and gown — here is the look that works.

The short answer
For graduation, choose a soft, luminous look that reads well in daylight: fresh skin with sunscreen underneath, defined brows and lashes, and a lip one shade deeper than usual. Keep it light enough to last outdoors and to suit the gown.

Daylight is honest
Most graduation photos are taken outdoors, and daylight shows every heavy layer. A light base with concealer only where you need it looks better in daylight than full coverage, and sunscreen underneath protects your skin through a long ceremony.
Define the features the camera looks for
Groomed brows, curled lashes with mascara and a soft wash of colour on the lids give the face structure in photographs without looking heavy. Under the cap, the brows do a lot of the work.
Colour that suits the gown
Graduation gowns are usually dark, so a lip slightly deeper than your everyday shade — rose, berry or terracotta — keeps the face from looking washed out next to them.
