How to make your makeup last in summer heat
Summer weddings in Amman are long, bright and warm. Here is how to keep your makeup fresh from the first photo to the last.

The short answer
Makeup lasts in the heat when the skin is hydrated but not greasy, the base goes on in thin layers, and every layer is set. Use a light sunscreen that sits well under makeup, powder only where you shine, and blot rather than add more powder through the day.

Prep: hydrate, don’t overload
Dehydrated skin produces more oil, so skipping moisturiser backfires. Use a light, fast-absorbing moisturiser and give it a few minutes before makeup. Heavy creams and oils right before makeup are what make a base slide.
Sunscreen that works under makeup
Outdoor photos in daylight need sunscreen, but the wrong one pills under foundation. Light, non-greasy formulas such as Round Lab Birch Juice Sun Cream or Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+ sit well under makeup.
Thin layers, set as you go
One thick layer of foundation slides off in the heat; two thin layers, each pressed in, stay put. Set the T-zone and under the eyes with a little powder, keep cream products thin, and finish with a setting spray.
Touch-ups without cakiness
Blot first with blotting papers, then add powder only if you still need it. Adding powder over oil is what makes makeup look heavy by the evening. Keep your lipstick with you and reapply after eating.
